AGB Business Internship

Students crave real-world experiences, and the AGB Summer Business Internship gives them just that. Our summer program exposes young adults to a variety of work environments and introduces them to the internal operations of a successful business. After completing a rigorous application process, our interns rotate through departments at various privately-owned businesses, nonprofits, or public organizations. Interns shadow skilled professionals to learn about daily expectations and challenges in their profession. They gain valuable insight about the skills, disposition, and practices needed to be successful in a variety of fields.

AGB Community Appreciation

Each year, AGB celebrates its anniversary with three days of giving back—to employees, to customers, and to the community. On Always Giving Back Day, our leadership team spends time together making a difference in the community.  We coordinate with an organization and spend the day serving their beneficiaries.  We shop for clothes and food essentials, cook and serve meals, write and send encouraging letters, or pack emergency kits.  This collaboration has proven very rewarding for us and for the partnering organization.

College Scholarships

The AGB Foundation is passionate about removing barriers to educational access for young people of color. We offer a range of college scholarships and social-emotional support each year to high school students and college-aged undergraduates that are underrepresented on college campuses. We invite them to participate in the career mentorship opportunities through our other programs.  Our John H. Griffin III Scholarship is for students who maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and qualify for free and reduced lunch. We also offer the Nia Griffin Scholarship for a student with special needs or a limited ability and a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA. And we’re pleased to announce the Geneva Stringer Scholarship for a first-generation college student who has a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. The Najia Griffin Scholarship is for a minority student athlete.  The Jibril Griffin Scholarship is for someone interested in STEM.  These scholarships may be used for post-secondary educational expenses at any two-year college or four-year college or university.

Family First

People can’t achieve their potential when their most basic needs aren’t being met. The AGB Foundation understands this truth. We believe that young people and their families can overcome obstacles when they have the support and faith of others. We adopt deserving families with children. We shower them with food, clothing, gifts, school supplies, and other necessities to help them throughout the year to attend work or school. Our Family First program is a celebration of our common dignity and shared faith. It is our joy and privilege to provide this service.
